Acoustic dreams is an acoustic unplugged event that provides you the biggest oppurtunities
to establish your band.
Rules & Regulations

PRELIMS:

  • Minimum of 2 are required to eligible in each group.
  • Only Acoustic Guitars, Bass Guitars (without Processor), Keyboards (in Piano mode only) and Percussions (Tabla, Congo, Cajon etc.) are allowed.
  • No instruments will be provided by the organizers.
  • Vocals of the song can be in any language.
  • A Cover Song (if performed in the prelims) cannot be repeated in the Finals.
  • Time allotted for Performance: 7 minutes
    (additional 3 minutes for stage setup and sound check).

 

 

FINALS:

The aim of the challenge is to make a wireless robot that can travel through the different terrains and complete the track.

Rules and Regulations:

  • The specification of the robot will be given in prior to the participants.
  • Use of any logo on the robot will be strictly prohibited.
  • The wired robot will not be allowed for the competitions.
  • Each group can have maximum of five members.
  • The maximum voltage shall not been exceed 20 Vdc.
  • The robot design must have the four individual directions for the movement (forward, backward, right and left).

[ Battle of Bands ]

Battle of the Bands is a contest in which two or more bands compete for the title of “best band”. The winner is determined by the general response of the audience or the band who brings the most people to support them. Traditionally, battles of bands are held at live music events and forums.

 

Rules & Regulations:

  • The competition is open to any band.
  • Songs of any Genre (Rock /Jazz /Blues /Rock-n-Roll /Country /Pop/ Reggae/ Alternative /Contemporary /Fusion /Any-other) are welcome in the competition.
  • Songs of any language are allowed in the competition.
  • All bands must perform minimum 1 (one) own original composition. The Original Composition must be of minimum 3 minutes. The Lyrics of the Original Composition in writing (along with translated meaning in English, in case the original composition is in any language other than English) must be submitted at the time of registration.
  • Explicit or offensive lyrics/gestures/misconduct will guarantee immediate disqualification from the competition and will lead to immediate expulsion from the stage.
  • Alcohol/drugs/smoking and all such objectionable things are strictly prohibited in the entire campus.
  • Bands are required to bring their own instruments/gears/add-ons. Only drum kit and sound arrangements (amplifiers) will be provided.
  • Performance cannot be completely unplugged. Maximum 1 (one) or 2 (two) unplugged instruments may be allowed.
  • Minimum 3 band members are required to be eligible for participation.
  • Any kind of programmed/pre-recorded music is not allowed during performance under any circumstances.
  • All bands must register online/offline prior to commencement of the competition. However, only a limited number of bands will be allowed to register on first-come first-served basis, and registration will be closed in sufficient advance if no. of participating bands exceeds the limit.
  • Decisions of judges will be final and concluding under all circumstances.

RULES:

  1. There will be a preliminary round on 9th Feb, 2017 and the final round will be held on 10th Feb, 2017.
  2. Participants can choose to participate in any one of the following categories: Category 1: Casual, Category 2: Retro
  3. Each preliminary round will have different sets of participants and themes for dressing up. Participants will have to introduce themselves during the preliminary round.
  4. Participants who are short-listed from the preliminary round will participate in the final round. Therefore, all the participants should be ready with the costume for the final round also.
  5. For the final round there will be an ‘Introduction’ round and a ‘Question & Answer’ round.
  6. Participants will be judged on the basis of their costumes, conformation to the theme, ‘walk’ and ‘attitude’.
  7. Indecency in any form will not be accepted and will lead to direct elimination.
  8. The time limit for self-introduction will be one minute for each participant. Negative marks will be there if participants exceed the allotted time limit.
  9. Decision of the judges will be the final and binding.

  11. There will be no spot registration. Registrations will be closed on 6th Feb, 2017 at 4 pm.
  12. Use of cigarettes, alcohol, etc inside the college premises is strictly prohibited.

THE TRADING EVENT

Don’t be slow, don’t be greedy. Don’t be obtuse with a machine gun pointed at you. There’s still time to build wealth and retire well”

This February, brush your concepts and be prepared to turn yourself into a master trader, as ‘The Wolf of the Wall Street – The Trading Event’ promises to take you through multiple facets of trading and put your skills and ability to the test.

Eligibility:

‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ is open for participation from the following participants-

  • Students pursuing any undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree or university course.
  • Registration must be done with a valid ID card.
  • Number of participant per team: 2
  • The participants must belong to the same institution.
  • Replacement of any participant of a team will not be allowed after registration.
  • The participants are advised to strictly adhere to the guidelines, failing which entries can be disqualified at any stage of the application process.

 

There will be three rounds.

Round 1:BUILD YOUR PORTFOLIO

The teams will be presented with a list of stocks and a variety of news and rumours related to them, continuously.

This round has two parts-

  • Part A- The teams will be assigned a definite amount. They have to make their purchase decisions according to the news items available to them.
  • Part B- In the second half of round 1, the teams will be allowed to sell the stocks that they have purchased.
  • No short selling will be allowed.
  • This is an elimination round. The teams with the best portfolios and highest net worth will go to Round 2.

Round 2: REAL TIME

  • The qualified teams will be tested on the basis of real time market situation.
  • This is also an elimination round.

 

Round 3: THE BIGGEST RISK IS NOT TAKING ANY RISK.

  • Surprise round!!
  • The details of the round will be disclosed after completion of Round 1 and Round 2.
  • The rounds will be conducted throughout the day at regular intervals on 9-10 February 2017.

This contest shall consist of multiple rounds to assess the managerial abilities of participants. This season of D’Maestro is themed around “Travel and Tourism in Assam”.

There will be four rounds.

Round one: The next Kotler

The participant will be given an existing product and he/she will have to design the business strategy along with a tagline. Participant needs to reposition the product in the market and add some new features that could be incorporated.

The participant will be judged on their marketing skills and the ability to put their knowledge in practice.

OR

Round one: Unbox

A test on the management knowledge, aptitude, and logical reasoning of the participant will be held to shortlist amongst the lot.

NOTE:                   

Round one will depend on the number of participants.

Round two: Now or Never

A situation will be given to the participant, where he/she needs to solve the problem in the situation. The participant needs to take decisions that are best suited to the situation. The participant will be questioned on the basis of the decision taken by him/her.

The event will be judged on the decision making skills of the participant and how best the participant can tackle the situation for the benefit of the organization.

Round three: The number game

Participants will be given annual reports of companies and they will have to analyze the figures and suggest the future course of action to the board of directors.

The event will be judged on the apt course taken by the participant for the company.

Round four: Carpe Diem

The participants are grilled with questions and this final round tests the ‘Best Manager’ in each one of them.

General rules

  1. Only team entries are eligible.
  2. A team shall consist of max 2 persons.
  3. The participants will not be allowed to use mobile or any other electronic devices.
  4. For registration, valid ID must be carried by the participants.
  5. Teams selected after the screening rounds will be allowed to give themselves an appropriate name related to the competition by which they want to be known.
  6. Teams members must be from the same institute.

 

Screening round (In case more than 10 teams)

  1. Each team will be given a set of questions containing 25 multiple choice objective type questions.
  2. Time Limit 15 minutes
  3. Only 10 teams will be selected.
  4. In case of tie between two or more teams, further five questions will be provided for final selection.

 

(Stage Rounds)

Round 1: A question will be asked to a team and if they are unable to answer, it will be passed to the next team.(Total-30 questions.)

  1. Each team will be asked 3 questions each.
  2. 10 marks for correct answer and 5 negative marks for wrong answer.
  3. If a team cannot answer the question, they can pass the question and then the question will be forwarded to the next team.
  4. Questions passed to the next team will be awarded 5 marks for correct answer and no negative marks for wrong answers.
  5. The questions can only be passed once.
  6. Answering time is only 30 seconds.
  7. Team discussion is allowed.
  8. Top 6 teams will proceed to the next round.

 

Round 2: Rapid Fire Round: Each team will be asked 10 questions one after another in one minute time.

  1. 10 marks for the correct answer and negative 5 marks for the wrong answer.
  2. Team discussion is allowed.
  3. If a team cannot answer the question, they can pass for the next question. The question will not be forwarded to the next team.
  4. Top 3 teams will proceed to the next round.

 

Round 3: Buzzer round: A question will be fired and the team which presses the buzzer first gets to answer first: 6 Questions.

  1. 10 marks for the correct answer and negative 5 marks for the wrong or if the team does not answer after they press buzzers.
  2. Answering time is only 30 seconds.
  3. Teams can opt for double points before answering a question where 20 marks will be awarded for right answers and 10 marks for wrong answers.

FOR SHOOT OUT-

  1. One player plays at a single time.
  2. The player gets 10 shooting chances.
  3. The position for the first 5 shots can be in accordance to the player, but cannot be too close to the basket to get easy shots. each shot here provides 1 point.
  4. The next 3 shots will be at any three pointer range irrespective of the range the player attempted in the first five shots. each successful basket gives the player 2 points.
  5. The second last shot will be an attempt from the half court position, and the basket from such will provide him a total of 3 points.
  6. The last shot will be a single handed shot, from any three pointer or two pointer range, the success of which provides him 2 points.
  7. if the player is successful in getting a total of 12 points out the total of 16 points, he or she is to be awarded with the goodie provided at the event.

 

FOR DRIBBLING AND FREESTYLE CHALLENGES

  1. Number of players in a single challenge is up to the innovation of the players and also the discretion of the volunteers and managing committee.
  2. The challenges will be provided by the volunteers in the form of chits which will be randomly picked out from a lottery bowl.

FOR LAY UPS AND PRO DUNKS

1) Any player claiming to be ready for a challenge of dunks and lay ups can take part, the task for which will be given either by the volunteers present, or even the spectators watching.

2) Each pro player (as claimed) must have to carry out each of the physically possible challenges without failure, and three challenges will be provided, failing in any of such would lead to his loss to the challenge.

3) It can be consisted with two or max of three players at a time acting as a team or a challenger / defender / barrier.

RULES & REGULATIONS :

  1. Both the competitors should face each other over the table.
  2. Both of them have to place their elbows on the elbow pads.
  3. The other hand must be used to grip in the gripping pegs on either side of the table.
  4. Opponents should grip each other’s palm allowing each other’s thumb knuckle to be visible during the start.
  5. If the players fail to get a proper grip on their own within a minute, the referee’s grip will be followed.
  6. Either one of them had to pin another on the touch pad on either sides.
  7. In case if the grip slips the game will be played with a strip tied on the hands( strap match).
  8. Both the competitors should be of same weight class( not more than 10kg difference)

 

FOULS :

  1. If any of the opponent raise their albow during the match it is given as a foul.
  2. If the competitors fail to cooperate with the referees during the referees grip they will be given a foul.
  3. Any movement during the referee’s grip will be considered as afoul.
  4. Two fouls of a single player results in disqualification on that player and the other will be declared winner.

Unfair Practices Subject to Penalty:

  • A player can only be on one team, meaning that you cannot play for two different clans in the competition.
  • Team members may communicate verbally if they are alive in the match or when all team members are dead.
  • Silent C4 installation may result to disqualification.
  • Any use of the flash bang bug will result in a -3 round score for the offending team. If the use of the bug is decided as unintentional, the game continues as normal.
  • Use of unfair scripts (e.g. silentrun, attack+use, centerview script, norecoil script, etc.) will have the offending team disqualified with no further consideration.

If disconnection occurs during a match: 

If all the players cannot play due to an unintended, unforeseen accident such as server stoppage,

  • Before the 2nd round starts: Match wil be restarted.
  • After the 2nd round starts: Disconnected player must re-connect to the server. The round is continued unpausing, and if the disconnected player cannot connect to the server, all players must wait during the freeze time after the round until the disconnected player connects to the server. At this time, the match may continue by unpausing. (Not a restart).
  • If up to 3 of all players are unintentionally disconnected: The score for that round is discarded. The game is paused after the round during the freeze time, and all players wait until the disconnected players are connected to the server. When all players are connected, the match may continue by unpausing the game.
  • In case of problems (disconnection of player, high latency, problem with accessories), if the Server Master is unable to pause the server due to technical issues, following rules shall be considered:
